About STCARC-L	English (USA)
STCARC-L is provided by the STC for the benefit of STC members and prospective members. Please read the guidelines below. STCARC-L Guidelines Anyone who agrees to abide by the guidelines may join the list. You do not have to be a member of the STC or live in Arkansas. Postings to the list should be of general interest specifically to technical communicators in Arkansas. Most writing questions should go to TECHWR-L or an equivalent general list. See http://www.stc.org/ for some resources. Lengthy discussions should occur off the list. Post an EDITED summary if the finished discussion would be interesting to list members. No personal attacks. No advertisements, with a few exceptions: Arkansas area job postings encouraged -- but only once per opening "I'm available for jobs" should be kept to a minimum (plus Common Sense) "Here's my web site" should be kept to a minimum (plus Common Sense) Common Sense: Make your announcement relevant to STC Arkansas folks, with a concise description of the service you or your web site can provide. Along with the SHORT description of the value you offer, tell readers how to get more information if they're interested. Your resume belongs on your web site or emailed directly to one person, NOT on the list. No jokes or news items unless you wrote it yourself. (Quotations should be properly attributed!) Subscribers who repeatedly misuse the list will be removed, with or without warning. The list master (and assistant list master, if applicable) shall have the final say in the matter. Using STCARC-L
To post a message to all the list members, send email to stcarc-l@mailman.stc.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to STCARC-L
Subscribe to STCARC-L by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
