New Media and Communications Organizations Present Design Thinking 
Event to Elicit Conversation and Inspire Business Differentiation

The DFW Usability Professionals Association (DFW UPA) and Society for
Technical Communication (STC) Lone Star Community (LSC) present Design
Thinking 2007 on the afternoon and evening of Friday, Oct. 19 at the
offices
of IMC2.

Chris Bernard, Microsoft user experience evangelist, will be the featured
speaker at the event. He works with the software design, development and
business domains to communicate Microsoft's position on the importance of
user experience in software design.

To honor busy schedules, the unknowns of a new event, and just to be
different, this is a Half-Day-Plus event. The main portion of the event
will be from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. From 6-8 p.m. various 1-2 hour specialty
sessions will be offered.

Windows Help Files: Looking Back, Moving Forward
2-hour session by Darice Lang, STC Lone Star Community 
In this two-hour class, we will take a quick look at the history of
Windows help files, the structure of a Windows help file, and then I will
share tips and tricks for creating and maintaining Windows help files. No
computers are required for this class. Information about help files will
not be directed to a specific help generation tool; it is simply

FrameMaker Tips and Stuff I Found Useful 
2-hour session by Mike Hiatt, STC Lone Star Community 
Mike will provide various tips he’s learned over the years (and last week)
about using Frame as well as some methodologies he’s developed for
creating and managing documents with shared content. He will also provide
information on some plug-ins for Frame he’s found useful over the last ten
years of using Frame, as well as provide suggestions for looking for
additional plug-ins. As time allows, he is willing to answer questions
about specific issues attendees may have and possible solutions. Attendees
who want to bring a laptop should already have FrameMaker installed on
their computers or have downloaded the latest FrameMaker 30-day trial
