deliverables (IQ, OQ, PQ) for multiple computer system projects.

Documentation Specialist

The Documentation Specialist will report to the Manager of Technical 
Communication and be responsible for creating end-user documentation for 
software products including Desktop, CD-ROM, and Web-based applications. 
This individual will work closely with other members of the TechComm 
department and other project teams.

The Documentation Specialist will be represent the TechComm depart as 
lead on projects and will share project status and industry information 
with the TechComm team.

Working closely with TechComm and related teams, the Documentation 
Specialist will follow the Mitchell TechComm procedure for software 
documentation including Microsoft standards.

The Documentation Specialist creates end-user documentation for software 
products including layout, design, and planning of the entire 
documentation product. Projects include writing, copyediting, and 
updating user manuals, installation guides, quick reference materials, 
and online help. The products to be documented include both CD-ROM and 
Web-based applications. The individual must be able to work in a 
team-oriented environment, and must be able to multi-task and switch 
between assigned projects frequently.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
*Creating end-user documentation for software products including layout, 
design, and planning of the entire documentation product
*Writing, copyediting, and updating user manuals, installation guides, 
quick reference materials, and online help
*Documenting CD-ROM and Web-based applications

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
*BA/BS in Business, Information Technologies, English, Journalism, or 
related discipline required, or equivalent experience

typography, layout, and design
*In-depth knowledge of desktop publishing tools such as FrameMaker, 
Microsoft Word, RoboHelp (HTML and WinHelp), and Adobe Acrobat, as well 
as working knowledge of graphics tools such as PhotoShop, Paint Shop 
Pro, and Fireworks
*Some HTML, DHTML, and CSS experience to the source code level and 
experience using Web-based products such as RoboHelp and Dreamweaver. 
Experience using JavaScript and XML is desirable
*Ability to work and communicate with product managers, product

of a technical communications team. Must be team-oriented and able to

*Experience preparing publications for commercial print, as well as for

*Provide training on system software to several levels of users,
