In the role of Technical Writer/Editor, you will be responsible for
designing, writing, and especially editing, both new and existing user
documentation. Documentation sets include user guides, API documentation,
developer’s guides, quick start guides, technical manuals, online Help,
and others.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in
either a technical discipline or in a writing related field, along with a
minimum of three years of technical writing and editing experience in a
software development environment.
Familiarity with structured documentation practices and environments is a
plus. Familiarity with agile development processes is also a plus.
The ability to understand complex issues and transform them into accurate,
user-friendly documentation; strong editing skills; the desire to produce
quality documentation and the ability to work independently and as part of
a team in a highly dynamic environment are a must.
The ability to juggle multiple, complex projects and work to a detailed
schedule, as well as adapt quickly to changes in project tasks and
schedules and experience working in close cooperation with distributed
teams in other countries and at least a basic knowledge of a European
language (particularly German) are strongly preferred.
At least an intermediate knowledge of tools such as Adobe Framemaker,
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, RoboHelp, Microsoft
Word, WebWorks Publisher for Word (or other versions), and Dreamweaver is
essential.
Solid knowledge of XML, HTML, and experience documenting Web-based
applications are a plus. The ability to quickly become proficient with new
software tools is critical.
