Position Title: Senior Technical Writer

Job Description:
The primary responsibility of the Senior Technical Writer is to research,
compile, edit, and author technical documents. At “Company” this includes:
Data Sheets, Product Briefs, Technical Information Manuals, Application
Notes, Errata Sheets, Programmer's Guides, Hardware Reference Guides,
Software Development Guides, Hardware User Manuals, Technical Reference
Manuals, Hardware Data Modules, Feature Briefs, Case Studies, White
Papers, and Software User Manuals.
The Senior Technical Writer must be able to quickly understand the scope
of a project, conduct concise customer interviews and write the material
with minimal customer interruptions. As part of the production cycle, the
Senior Technical Writer generates and monitors reviews for the proper
sign-off cycle and then releases documents to the Document Control
department for distribution.
The Senior Technical Writer edits and revises existing documents according
to “Company's” Technical Publication Style Guide and must provide
technical guidance and assistance to the other writers in the group.
Qualifications:
--Must have a BS degree and six years of experience, or an MS degree and
three years of experience.
--Must be quick studies in technical subjects.
--Must be able to work independently with little supervision to tight
deadlines, and be able to handle many tasks at once and make quick
judgment calls.
Application software requirements: FrameMaker, WebWorks, Microsoft Word,
DreamWeaver, ROBOHELP, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Illustrator, and various
draw programs.
