Position: Senior Technical Writer (staff position, not contract)

Job Scope: 

Write, review, edit, and coordinate Owner's Manuals, 
Service Manuals, Set-Up Instructions, and other jobs. Validate drafts
prepared by Japan with a Honda product if available. Coordinate printing
and delivery schedules to match product release as determined by
department
requirements.

Position Requirements: 

Four-year college degree, two-year Technical Writing Program certificate,
or English/Journalism courses. Three to five years technical writing
experience in a publications environment related to a mechanical field or
servicing and operation of consumer products.

Experience as a technician in a mechanical field is helpful. Strong
computer skills including desktop publishing, graphic software, 
scanner, and digital camera. The ability to use Framemaker software is 
desirable.

Job Related Technical Skills: 

Understanding of basic automobile and
motorcycle technology; understanding of the publications processes such 
as writing, design, layout, production, and printing. Must have excellent
written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual skills may be 
helpful.

Honda motorcycle product knowledge helpful. Ability to work under tight
deadlines and to manage multiple projects simultaneously a must.
