for web-based publication and in support of technical training.
RESPONSIBILITIES
*Serves as a seasoned professional who applies, analyzes and interprets
standard theories, concepts, methods, and techniques to work with
illustrators, engineering, tech support, technical training, marketing
and others to develop technical content for operation, troubleshooting
and maintenance procedures, topic-based documentation, and training
materials.
*Applies professional and technical experience and knowledge for
developing, managing, tracking, and updating content for highly
re-purposed informational products.
*Researches and translates technical information into product
documentation for both non-technical and technically advanced users.
Works with engineers in lab and test environments to learn product
functionality, interviews technical staff to collect source data, and
conducts procedure validation with technical experts for use in the
field.
*Responsible for working with product program teams to develop product
specifications, field procedures, and software and hardware user
documentation.
*Produces information products that are compliant to industry,
corporate, safety and quality assurance standards
*Authors content in an XML editor, integrated in a CMS system, with
multiple-channel output and formats.
*Researches and evaluates new technologies to improve group processes
and output and keep ahead of the technology curve with DITA, XML, and
single-sourced documentation environment.
*Investigates and analyzes typical issues and prepares recommendations
for policy/process action.
*Develops and maintains writing development administration tools and
assisting in the development of new information products.
*Actively participates in program teams (PMT meetings, Design Reviews,
Program Reviews).
*Partners with management and employees providing guidance and support
to achieve business goals and promote Corporate values.
*Coordinates/tracks workload within the Writers Group including
interdepartmental requests.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a senior technical writer on a highly collaborative team, the person
