Thank you very much, Scott. Your study is a very interesting one! Some of my students are interested in variations on your themes, though with a UK flavour. Your thesis reassures me that a study into TCs' perceptions of what matters can be completed successfully!
 
The survey I have in mind would be a development of your questions 11 and 18 which are the only ones that focus on research explicitly. It would be part of a larger study that I am doing for my Master's in Education.

Hello
I wonder whether anyone knows of a survey instrument to explore (MA)
students' attitudes to research in technical communication? I haven't been
able to find anything, but it would seem that members on this list have
access to journals I haven't in the UK. Or may be North American students
are less ambivalent about research then UK ones...?

In case no such instrument exists, would it be appropriate for me to post a
draft questionnaire that I've been working on, to get peer feedback?
