Folks,
I'm really not ready to take on the responsibilities of secretary again; I have a novel that I need to finish up and I'm planning to start taking night classes and I don't know what my evenings are going to be like. So please take me off the list for Secretary. I did agree to work with Wanda on job postings, though.
Thanks,
Meryl
Cheri Mullins <Cheri.Mullins at genband.com> wrote: We should also include s/t about how, when, and where the voting will take place if we do have more than one candidate for an office. Also, how one can advance a name (one's own or someone else's) for candidacy and the deadline for this. Also, there is no point in listing inactive positions unless we want to reactive them. Here is a revision that I propose. Please check my facts and wording. I am proposing a new director, of Technologies, where we would place the (formerly Online) New Technologies SIG, Listserv, and webmaster. This person would also interact with other organizations such as CTDUG and the FrameMaker User's Group. The Publications Director would still be responsible for web content. I am also proposing creating the position of Activities Mgr under the Outreach Director. This person would be responsible for the logistics of the Christmas party, banquet, and any other "social" activities. The banquet would
still be funded and driven by the Competitions. Finally, I propose a Manager of Academe under the Outreach Director. This person would handle interactions (except for student completions) with Academe, including the Colby Scholarship. The Academe Mgr would work closely with the Student Competitions Mgr to establish and maintain academe contacts.
Also, it seems that there are some folks missing here who had agreed to be candidates. Can anyone fill these in?
