Don't forget the Board meeting tonight at the LCRA, Colorado room. 7 p.m. -
8:15 p.m. You should have already posted your new agenda items on the
austin_stc_admin Yahoo! group site at:

There is no need to post "budget" as an item, since this is the primary
focus of this Board meeting. Don't forget to bring in your budget in some
sort of written form. Keep in mind that some budgets will overlap. That's
perfectly fine and normal in non-profits. David will reconcile everything
and then tell us what we can and cannot do. Also remember that you need
justification for whatever budget you ask for -- just like at work or at
home. Saying "yes" to something often means saying "no" to something else.
Last year's budget is a good starting point for this year, but it is not set
in stone. A compelling case for funding can be made -- say for a workshop
and a seminar. Each item needs its own justification -- not just because
"we've always done it that way." Here's an interesting site about
non-profit budgets.

Also, take a minute to read the minutes (:-)) from the Leadership Meeting so
we can approve them or amend them. This will be standard at each Board
meeting, to approve the previous meeting's minutes first.
Also, Wanda sent an Employment report. It is posted in the folder for the
agenda items for the meeting. Although this first Board meeting did not
require reports, each subsequent one will. You will need to post your
reports for future meetings not later than 6 p.m.on the Monday before each
Board meeting. Reports should include status, action items you own and their
status, anything you need, other information. At a minimum, each Director
provides a report. Directors either roll in reports from their Managers or
have those Managers provide separate reports.
See you tonight!
