Regarding email addresses, I posted to a listserve the other day about
cloaking email addresses so a human could still click a link and invoke an
email blank with the To field correctly filled. I received about three
recommendations for Enkoder, another for
http://fantomaster.com/fantomasSuite/mailShield/famshieldsv-e.cgi
(unicoder), and some sort of redirect-mailto program. BTW, some spambots
apparently search for "mailto" as a marker in code. That would stand to
reason that spammers can also reverse-convert special code if they know
you're trying to hide but leave the telltale "mailto" expression in. One
sobering response came from someone I had worked with a couple of years
ago, who's a triple-A grade coder.
excerpt--
"if you are already getting spam to an email address, you may as well throw
that email address away. The spam lists are sold to other spammers so the
address cannot be hidden now so it will continue to collect spam. You
should use a completely new email address...."
Aaron, nice you've been doing the networking lunches and that Janet has
volunteered to set up March.
