All,
 
Since I was tasked in the November meeting with distributing the Colby Award
materials to the local schools and since we didn't have time to go over this
last night, I thought I'd create a first pass for the notification and
requirements. Here it is. Please comment on any and all aspects of this. 
 
I will be glad to continue to work this to completion if folks provide
input. 
 
Other things to consider:

*	Who will the Scholarship Committee comprise? 

*	Who wants to volunteer? Someone with a degree in TC would be
appropriate to chair the Committee, I think. 

*	Are there any requirements for SC members? 

*	What submit by, decision by, and fund by dates will we use? As the
basis of the document I started, I used academic year based on one semester
already completed and enrolled in one semester, funded before the end of the
semester. I used these dates partly because that's where we are, time-wise.
However, I do think students should have at least a full semester under
their belts and should be currently enrolled. These dates work out pretty
well for that scenario. Recognition at the banquet then becomes a nice
option. 

*	Within what geographical boundaries shall we limit applications? I
used "Central Texas" in the attached document. (Lone Star awards within
Region 5.) 

*	I am certain that I can enlist a faculty member at Texas State and
one from ACC and likely Hillary from UT as well to be part of the committee
if we decide that is warranted.
