>>>Thank you all for a good board meeting on Tuesday. We had a lot of
>>>backed-up action items to dispense with or re-deploy.
>>>
>>>One thing we did not get to is an item in new business: the posting of
>>>board meeting information, the chapter strategy, and board meeting
>>>minutes.
>>>
>>>I have the following suggestions for Seth and you all to consider:
>>>
>>>1. Create a new top-level menu, Leadership. Position it between Austin
>>>STC and It should have the following items:
>>> a. Officers (current Officers page)
>>> b. Mission (current Mission page)
>>> c. Strategy (new, contains the current strategy document, which we
>>>have been maintaining through two years of leadership retreats)
>>> d. Board Meetings (new, contains a statement on where and when the
>>>board meets and the archive of Board meeting minutes). The "Board
>>>Meeting" entries in the Calendar would link to this page.
>>>
>>>That leaves the Austin STC menu with two items, Membership and Calendar.
>>>In the future I'd like to add an item for Volunteering to help engage
>>>people in what they can do.
>>>
>>>This increases the width of the menu, but that could be ameliorated if
>>>necessary by putting it below the STC logo rather than to the right of
>>>it. I trust Seth with the fine points.
>>>
>>>Rationale:
>>>One of the things we want to do is promote participation in leading the
>>>chapter. Identifying leadership as a separate item gets it in front of
>>>eyeballs and makes it easier for people to find and engage with.
>>>
>>>I considered the idea of extending the Austin STC menu, but it makes the
>>>menu long and buries the topics.
>>>
>>>Also, we are *obligated* to share our strategy and board meeting minutes
>>>with the membership. (See Article IV Section 3 "Board Responsibilitie" in
>>>the chapter bylaws.) We are way behind on getting this resolved and have
>>>had difficulties with it over the past two years. If we want people to
>>>get involved, they need to know what's going on. We're doing good things
>>>and my observation is that when people see the plans and feel our fire,
>>>they want to get involved too.
>>>
>>>I'd like to know your thoughts. Seth, once we work out the details do you
>>>have an idea when this could be implemented?
