LCRA contact for reserving board room

Actually, LCRA was pre-empting our meetings for their own meetings,
which they still probably claim the right to do, so you'd better ask
about that. One spring they pre-empted every one of our monthly
meetings, which is why we moved. They weren't pre-empting them for the
City Council, which was held on another night.

Tom,
Sorry for the misunderstanding. The LCRA board room is what gets
reserved for meetings. Many years ago, STC Austin had held chapter
meetings at LCRA on Thursday evenings, free of charge. The
networking/socializing area for before meetings was outside the board
room. Inside the board room, there was a conference room that we also
used before the chapter meetings. Don't remember if we used the
conference room every ch meeting, but it was available. I believe it
was used at least occasionally for pre-ch meeting resume assessments or
mini-topic meetings. Hospitality was responsible for obtaining and
bringing outside food and setting up--no at-site catering like MCC &
Pickle Center, which UT runs.
I believe LCRA was pre-empting STC Austin ch meetings to host the city
council meetings, forcing us to go somewhere else. Now the city council
has city hall, and we've been holding our meetings on Tuesdays. We'd
been talking about the feasibility of returning to LCRA. Main reason
driving the possibility is that monthly ch meeting hostings run appx
$350--$200 alone for site rental. AFAIK, the board room wouldn't cost.
There has been no discussiion of doing things differently for board
meetings, just continue to reserve the room at the library around June
for the year. (I think I fwded you info about contacting the library
person.)
