The STC national makes most of its $ off the conference

Mary Wise mentioned this at the 3/28 meeting.
I found that statement to be pretty disturbing.
It seems likely that the vast majority of members never go to a national 
conference.
And I'd bet on conference attendance going down in the future:
    - travel will probably get more expensive
    - doing stuff from home will get easier
We pay what seems like a large fee right now, and it still isn't enough 
to cover society expenses...that bodes ill for the national's survival.
