dates available at Old Quarry (4th Tue not available)

  Sorry for the bad news but the Old Quarry is not taking reservations after August. At some point, the library will announce a date/time in August to line up for reservations from September 2006 to September 2007. It's not clear whether existing reservations will be given priority. 
   
  We could hope for the best in August and book MCC for September? If Old Quarry does not work out, we could schedule the rest of the year at MCC. We may lose our regularly scheduled day at MCC but we're considering changing the day anyway. If it works out at Old Quarry, we would lose the MCC room fee (not too bad).

I stopped by the Old Quarry library on the way home from the board meeting 
last night.

It's nowhere near as classy as the MCC auditorium (or LCRA), but it looks 
like it will work. And the price is right. :-) Note that the capacity is 
listed as 80 online but the fire code notice on the wall says "60 with 
chairs." There are about stacking 80 chairs available (padded, 
hotel-conference-room-like, but no desk surface like MCC). Note that we 
would have to put them back in the chair closet after the meeting. How's 
your back, Tom?

Some club was there and they were projecting on the wall using a table in 
front of the audience. It seemed to work. We'd need to be sure of 
extension cord availability or bring our own.

Now the bad news: The 4th Tuesday slot has already been claimed. As of 
last night the following recurring slots were available:

Mon: 1st, 2nd, 4th
Tue: 1st, 2nd
Wed: 1st, 2nd
Thu: 4th

We should probably move fast if we really want to claim it. What about the 
2nd Tuesday?

It may help to poll the incoming leadership. I'll do that separately.
