January Society for Technical Communication Chapter meeting presents 
Ronald Mendell

Austin, TX- January 11, 2007 ? The Austin Community of STC features Ronald 
Mendell who will give the presentation, ?Document Security:  Probing the 
Hidden Layers?.

Ronald will discuss the following:
?Metadata in documents
?Web-facing documents (Google hacking)
?Business channels and information leakage
?Magnetic and optical persistence (Be careful about what disks you throw 
away)
?Anti-forensics
?Evaluating online information (Web sites)
?Document forgeries


Ronald Mendell writes, researches, and consults on computer security, 
investigative matters, industrial espionage, and business intelligence 
topics.  He is a Distinguished Visiting Lecturer in the School of 
Business, Computer Information Systems and Security program and has 
contributed to Security Management, SecurityPortal.com, White-Collar Crime 
Fighter, PI Magazine, SecurityFocus.com and several published books.

The Society for Technical Communication (STC) is a professional 
association that advances the arts and sciences of technical 
communication. Its 25,000 international members create product manuals, 
software documentation, and intuitive user interfaces for the technology 
we use every day.

Meetings are free and open to the public. The meeting starts with light 
refreshments and networking at 6PM. The program is from 7:00-8:00 pm. 
Meetings are held at the Commons Center on the J.J. Pickle Research 
Campus.
