MAKING SENSE OF STANDARDS
April Society for Technical Communication Chapter meeting presents Alan
Porter
Austin, TX- April 5, 2007 The Austin Community of STC features Alan Porter
who will give the presentation, Making Sense of Standards.
Alan will discuss the following:
The various standards current in the industry.
The application of various standards.
How to decide if standards make sense for your business.
Alan Porter, Director of Services at Quadralay Corporation, has 20 plus
years in Corporate Publishing in the UK and USA. He has been involved in
the development and adoption of various publishing standards and has been a
regular speaker at industry conferences.
The Society for Technical Communication (STC) is a professional association
that advances the arts and sciences of technical communication. Its 25,000
international members create product manuals,
software documentation, and intuitive user interfaces for the technology we
use every day.
Meetings are free and open to the public. The meeting starts with light
refreshments and networking at 6PM. Then program is from 7:00-8:00 pm.
Meetings are held at the Commons Center on the J.J. Pickle Research Campus.
