The June program features a group of Carolina Chapter members that were
lucky enough to attend the 2004 STC National Conference in Baltimore.
Marie Dexter, Melanie Drake, Ann-Marie Grissino, Anne Jones, Larry Kunz,
Frances Wirth will participate in a panel discussion and cover topics such
as online information and structured authoring, single-sourcing, content
management, and XML, We’ll also learn more about how we, as technical
communicators, can add value for our employers by filling nontraditional
roles and the "transformation" that STC is undergoing.

Larry Kunz, Frances Wirth

Topic: What does the future of technical writing look like? Join a panel

Collaboration across the globe, learning to be a lone writer in a smaller

ahead for future needs, content engineering, moving technical writing
offshore, performance support, usability engineering, and interaction
design. How large will the team or audience enterprise become? Who will we

beyond-the-ordinary PDFs can really do! He will show you how you can set
these features manually in Acrobat and then how to automate the process
(set it once and forget it!) using TimeSavers. TimeSavers is a product
that Shlomo created that lets you add PDF coolness right into your
FrameMaker files, so you don't have to keep redoing everything each time
you generate a new PDF. There is a version of TimeSavers for Word, also
(but you use FrameMaker, right?). We will also elect new officers at this
meeting.
