Syracuse Research Corporation (SRC) currently has a job opening for a
full-time Technical Writer in its Syracuse, NY office that can provide
writing and editing support to SRC’s engineering centers.
The essential functions of the Technical Writer will include:
Editing and proofreading technical documents to the U.S. Government
Style Manual and MIL-STDS under short deadlines
Assisting with the creation and maintenance of technical product
documentation and research reports
Maintaining corporate consistency across all customer deliverables
Writing proposal boilerplate copy, biographies, capabilities
statements, and past performance descriptions
Assisting with daily maintenance of a business development database
B.A. or B.S. in English writing or technical communications
respectively with two to five years experience is required. The skills
necessary to perform the essential job functions include: excellent
written and oral communications; project management experience;
organization and attention to detail; deadline driven and able to
manage several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
technical product marketing experience; proposal coordination
experience; and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. While not
a primary skill required, graphic and layout capabilities are a plus.
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, and will be subject to a government
security investigation to meet eligibility requirements for access to
classified information. An editing and writing test will be given to
applicants during the interviewing process.
