Technical Writer (Contract)
For over 40 years, ChaseDesign has helped consumer product goods
manufacturers grow their business. With research as a foundation for
everything we do, our teams have been successful in developing
strategy and design solutions that help drive brand performance. At
ChaseDesign, we develop winning product, packaging, retail and brand
design solutions that directly impact our client’s sales and profits.
ChaseDesign’s clients include companies such as Procter and Gamble,
Intuit, Newell Rubbermaid, FedEx, Intuit, Nestlé, Constellation Brands
and PepsiCo.
We have an opening for a Technical Writer (on contract) to work for
3-4 months on a project for our client in writing a user manual for
their software product. We will provide you with the software for your
computer so that you may learn it as well. You can work remotely or
onsite, whichever you prefer. This will require coming to our
headquarters offices in Skaneateles, NY once a week for a meeting with
the team. In addition, you will have the opportunity to travel
(completely paid of course) to our clients offices for a few meetings
as well - Working with designers and others within the team, you will
have responsibility for developing and writing the entire User Manual.
We are looking for someone who has solid experience in writing
technical manuals ideally for software applications. Other
requirements include effective communication skills in conveying ideas
to the team and client, flexibility, extremely well organized and
strong attention to detail. Experience with Adobe InDesign is
preferred but not required. This is a fun client, fun project and a
terrific group of people to work with! To apply, please send your
resume to slabella at chasedesign.net.

Subject: Re: Technical Writer - Contract
Hi Sharon - Please send me the job description (if there's more to it)
and I'll forward it to the CNYSTC listserve. I prefer just a text
file within the email itself as most folks distrust attachments. But
if it needs to be an attachment please send a PDF formatted file NOT a
WORD file.
Or is your email the complete description? I think members would like
to know the location (even if its approximate) and the skill set
that's desired.
Thanks much,
Russ

Hello Russ,
Julie Martin forwarded your contact information to me. We are looking
for a technical writer to work on a project for a client of ours, a
leading shipping/delivery company. This is a contract position.
Julie mentioned that you could post this position perhaps? Could you
please let me know what the process is to do this. I did sign-on with
the STC website so if it's through there I'm glad to go there directly.
Thanks very much.
