From danderson at atsor.com Wed Mar 5 17:41:51 2008 From: danderson at atsor.com (Anderson, David (ATSOR)) Date: Wed, 5 Mar 2008 16:41:51 -0800 Subject: Introduction--David Anderson Message-ID: <808B40A88E11F74FB99865087B6C439342A57E@ormail.atsna.atsauto.net> Greetings, My name is David Anderson and I'm new to your Quality and Process Improvement SIG. For the last 7 years I've worked as the Senior Technical Writer at a high-tech manufacturing plant. Recently I was given the new title of "Quality Specialist." I'm still primarily a writer, but instead of creating manuals, assembly instructions, and templates, I write engineering specifications (URS, FRS, SDS, HDS) and test protocols (IQ, OQ) for medical device and pharmaceutical projects. In addition, I am now an internal quality auditor and chair of the continuous improvement (CAPA) team. The transition from technical writing to Quality Assurance is, I think, a natural one, and I am glad to find that others have made a similar move. I look forward to our discussions From dawny1313 at hotmail.com Fri Mar 7 14:22:59 2008 From: dawny1313 at hotmail.com (Judy Streeb) Date: Fri, 7 Mar 2008 14:22:59 -0700 Subject: Introduction--David Anderson Message-ID: I went in the opposite direction and felt that was the natural transition. I went from QA doing Software Testing to Technical Writing. Now, I still do some QA while I write up the procedures I'm documenting, but writing is my main focus. I suppose in the end, the perception of "natural" depends on where you started and where you want to be! :) Good luck in your new position.
