Plain Language Act of 2008 passes in the House!

Good on us! Now we still have a lot of work to do.
I wonder whether Plain Language isn't just quietly being adopted by many technical communicators without much formality. As Lisa mentioned, localization is often a starting point -- preparing our work for localization and translation will probably result in glossaries and word lists, even at the most "traditional" organizations. This gets us partway there ... and if STC members have been paying attention to the wonderful articles and books that are being written by Ginny Redish and others, they may just quietly have started "doing it right."
I know I use it. But I don't advertise the fact, particularly.
