Browse Navigation and Search Combo

The combination works well but what no one seems to be taking into account is the return visitor.
 
Once the visitor knows where the content they want is, and what search term will work to locate it swiftly, they are likely to use search to go directly to it rather than browse to it, especially if working through the menu system takes more clicks.
