Engineering Technician
Location: Orlando, FL
Job Description: Training database data entry, SAF scenario creation,
providing support for physics-based modeling & simulation, compiling. as
well as generating & editing technical documents, providing a horizontal
interface to Corporate Office's (Mid-Atlantic-Based) CM and QA teams, and
maintaining/managing electronic filing and configuration control of
documents. Demonstrated expertise, or expressed desire to develop expertise
with specialized applications for simulation and modeling of physical
components. Individual will be expected to demonstrate a desire to expand
scope of responsibilities to include system & subsystem level testing, as
well as long range aspirations for continued professional development &
growth, such as a 4-year degree in aerodynamics engineering, computer
science, software programming or other applicable technical discipline, as
appropriate.
Required Skills: Demonstrated a working knowledge, with some proficiency in
working with various tools/applications associated with information
technology/systems. Software programming experience or education preferred.
Demonstrates a high degree of competence with technical writing and editing
skills required to support engineering program life cycle development. Must
be proficient with the following applications, as a minimum: Microsoft 2003
Windows O/S, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and Explorer, Visio
Professional, Adobe Standard, Graphic tools and relational databases such as
DOORS. Must have a working knowledge of systems administration, internet
operations, as well as network configurations.
Preferred Skills: Understanding of software programming, software / systems
development processes, Configuration & Data management, and subsystem/system
level testing and verification/validation.
Required Experience: Completed, working, or committed to working towards B.S
in technical or engineering degree. AA in a technical discipline, such as
computer science, software, information technology, information systems,
etc., or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's or Associates degree in computer science,
mathematics, systems engineering, modeling & simulation or related technical
discipline. Equivalent work experience demonstrated through past jobs and
knowledge/skills/abilities will be considered a significant advantage.
Demonstrated in-depth expertise or working knowledge of engineering &
administration tools/applications, such as Microsoft 2003 Professional
Suite, Visio Professional 2003, UML tools/applications, etc., or the
demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire this level of expertise on past
positions is highly desired.
